REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline; minimum of two years of College level teaching and/ or Industrial experience in a related field to the position; competency and comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical & automated systems, and/or manufacturing processes; substantial experience in using Engineering software; demonstrated a strong background in curricular planning and assessment, as well as the use of innovative educational technologies to enhance student learning, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in teaching at a Community College; experience teaching using models, simulations, and scientific visualization techniques (as appropriate); knowledge of teaching engineering design and or biomechanics courses; leadership experience or potential in key areas, among which are: competency-based assessment, teaching under-prepared students, workforce development; demonstrated capacity to work with other faculty in such activities as developing courses, learning communities, and faculty development initiatives; experience developing and teaching online and/or hybrid formats that incorporate universal design principles; familiarity with accreditation standards, experience writing grant proposals; experience creating and/or directing an academic program or project; and demonstrated interest in working with academic, industry, and/or community partners.
POSITION STATUS: Full-time, tenure track, MCCC/MTA unit position with benefits. This position is subject to the 2017 budget appropriation.
SALARY: Minimum salary $45,996 to $92,555.00 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is subject to the 2018 budget appropriation.
