The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The position is available beginning August 2019. This position requires in-depth knowledge in the areas of electrical power, electric machinery, industrial and classical control systems, and basic engineering sciences. Some experience in PLCs would be a plus. The department offers a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Computer Engineering. The mission of the College emphasizes undergraduate instruction. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach at full time (12 credit hours of lecture and laboratory per term.) Additional responsibilities include: support for ABET accreditation activities, scholarship/professional development, course and laboratory development, supervision of student projects, student advising, and service at divisional and university level. A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline and a minimum of three years of relevant industrial experience are required as are excellent written and verbal communications skills. Professional Registration (PE) and teaching experience are a plus. The University is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their leadership, research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
