Job Technical Skills – Responsible for all engineering and technical activities concerning existing and proposed distribution, street light, and fiber communication systems. Specific responsibilities include supervision of engineering design, material selection, writing specifications and standards, preparing network orders, bid evaluations, consulting services, budget projections, and preparation of feasibility studies ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Periodically acts as on-call "Duty Supervisor" as assigned, to efficiently operate and maintain LES Transmission and Distribution facilities outside of normal working hours.
Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Directs, plans, organizes, coordinates, and executes design of rebuild, relocation, and new construction of distribution, street light, and fiber communication capital improvement projects.
Provides technical direction in all engineering activities concerning the review, design, work order preparations, construction, construction management, scheduling, and budgeting of distribution, street light, and fiber communication facilities.
Investigates and resolves complex customer questions, problems, and complaints.
Represents the Department and organization by attending meetings, public events, and speaking engagements and serves as a liaison with external agencies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and
Five years of progressively responsible engineering design experience, or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Valid driver’s license.
Professional Engineering license.
