Requisition Number: S_191152 Department: Mid-America Transportation Center-1069 Description of Work: This position is responsible for management of the Intelligent Transportation Systems lab, several complex research video and data collection test beds, as well as maintaining the MATC and NTC servers. Provide technical assistance to faculty, staff and students; responsible for IT support and website development activities of NTC; provide technology support for all NTC/MATC grants and maintain the traffic management system and video wall system. Responsibilities also include installation, configuration, and maintenance of traffic monitoring test beds in the field and site related sensors, computers, control systems, and cameras. Position custom configures, set up testing, and monitor all data and traffic video for research and analysis on work stations. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field plus 2 years of experience in network administration, computer repair, server administration and hardware design and implementation required. Must have software implementation for engineering applications and server configuration and administration experience. Experience with help desk/customer support necessary. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems operation and maintenance essential. Problem solving skills to meet customer satisfaction required. Must have one year of experience with National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and/or National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. Five years of relevant experience in hardware design and implementation, software implementation for engineering applications and project management experience helpful. Prefer knowledge of Content Management System (CMS) software. Ability to build desktop computers and/or servers desirable. Experience working with RAID Controllers preferred. Knowledge of UNL helpful. Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems desirable. Posted Salary: $57,000 minimum Job Type: Full-Time
