Essential Functions :

This role will be part of a team developing and deploying our client's IIOT platforms, analytic and machine learning applications, and augmented reality experiences. Our team uses the ThingWorx IIOT foundation for our services that will be deployed using standard apps and customized solutions, extended with additional FactoryTalk InnovationSuite technologies.

Data Scientist:

The Advanced Analytics Data Scientist role is part of the ASG Center of Excellence. The role will collaborate with subject matter experts to identify, prioritize and perform experiments that help clarify the best, or most pragmatic, way to implement advanced analytics solutions for our customers. The data scientist will produce presentation content that compares the ease and quality of various advanced analytics techniques and product kits to complete defined solutions. This individual will also identify and document new solution offerings and Rockwell Automation product features to drive additional business or delivery efficiencies. Work will require becoming familiar with multiple analytics products used to deliver solutions that contain descriptive analytics (measures), diagnostic analytics (process calculations), predictive analytics (soft sensors and anomaly detectors) and prescriptive analytics (model predictive controls and optimizers).

Functional:

• Develops and deploys advanced analytics solutions and architectures end-to-end (including data extraction, algorithm development, control system integration and GUI)
• Applies an understanding of complex control systems and data analytics to produce a data-focused approach to Industrial Automation problem cases
• Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Builds the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
• Identify processes that improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Conduct research for industry and business questions.
• Collaborates with product owners and stakeholders to ensure alignment of architecture with business priorities
• For critical customer or first-of implementation, able to perform and or direct the technical work scope for projects and provides accurate status reporting of same to project management.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors or equivalent degree in chemical engineering or other engineering with heavy process modeling, statistics or process/systems control focus.
• Willing and able to travel and work at client sites. Travel can vary on assignment from 0% to 100% but can average 40%.
• Legal authorization to work in the Mexico is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience in software project delivery in manufacturing environments
• Experience with the design and configuration of Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk Analytics, ProductionCentre Application Suites (CPG Suite or PharmaSuite), PTC ThingWorx, & Kepware
• Experience with time-series process modeling and control.
• Programming background with languages such as Python, C/C++. Aptitude to quickly learn new programming language as need arises.
• Familiarity with automation applications (control, monitoring, ... especially real-time deployment)
• Background in one or more of the following disciplines: electrical engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, data science.
• Background in machine learning. Aptitude to quickly learn new ML concepts as need arises.
• Familiarity with real-world dataset
